The Swingin’ Richards! (TSWR) are diamonds in the rough, sailing in the vast ocean of bar bands. They have a surprisingly BIG sound; despite the fact that their only tools are Hans Wenzel & Rodney Ervin’s thundering guitars, Hans’ dirty soul vocals, and Don Gillmer’s unique percussion style. TSWR have a large catalog of music that encompasses a wide range of styles & genres, so there is LITERALLY something for everyone.
Not your run-of-the-mill cover band, The Richards try to put their own stylistic spin on each song. Giving the audience the tunes they know & love, but done in a way they never thought possible, with an energy that resonates through every crowd they perform for. All of this makes TSWR one of the most talented, creative, dynamic, & entertaining bands in the region.

Hans Wenzel
With blazing vocals that cross multiple genres, Hans can sing anything. Want to hear Ray LaMontagne, Chris Cornel and Prince at the same show? Come see us. Hans has also written many original songs that showcase his songwriting and lyrical talents. His approach to less is more provides a unique storytelling experience. Request an original, you will be glad you did.
Rodney Ervin
Amazing technical skill is an understatement when describing the passion Rodney brings to his craft. Electric or acoustic, this man will make a guitar sing and beg for mercy... All while making you say "that guy is just cool." There is a reason he is referred as as "Lord of the Strings."
Don Gillmer
Refusing to be just another average drummer hiding in the back, Don contunies to evolve. It may be a percussion configuration, a hybrid hand drum / regular kit set up or a full blow hard rockin full set experience. Don has developed the flexibility to adapt to the situation around him. Don is always looking for the next way to bring you something you may not have heard or seen.
