CHARLES TWILLEY
Charles Twilley, a talented and seasoned Jazz saxophonist, recently moved to South Carolina from Las Vegas, by way of Chicago, where he was born and raised. He came down to play with his old friend from the 60's, Mac Arnold, at one of Mac's Annual Cornbread and Collard Greens festivals and decided to stay.
Although Charles truly enjoyed playing with his fellow musicians and friends from Chicago to Las Vegas to South Carolina, he is now "doing his own thing." He is back to playing his smooth jazz genre with a renewed and rejuvenated spirit.and loving every minute of it!
Some of Charles' major influences include Grover Washington, Jr., David Sanborn, Hank Crawford, Gerald Albright, Everett Harp, Kirk Whalum and Dave Koz, to name a few. No wonder Charles is ready to entertain with his bold, brazen, and fiery smooth jazz sounds. He has been influenced by some of the best musicians ever to play music.
Charles is looking forward to sharing his talents every chance he gets and vows to continue sharing his soulful sax sounds from the heart for as long as the God-in-him blesses him to do so.
LAWRENCE JAMISON
Lawrence Jamison is a local, self-taught and confident tenor saxophonist from Mauldin, South Carolina, by way of North Carolina and Washington, DC, where he was born and raised. Over the years, Lawrence has been dedicated to his smooth jazz genre and has quickly risen to the occasion of sharing his smooth jazz sounds throughout South Carolina.
Of all his influences over the years, Lawrence had the pleasure of teaming up with a new mentor in music, Charles E. Twilley, a seasoned and talented smooth jazz alto saxophonist from Las Vegas, by way of Chicago. They first met in South Carolina over two years ago and instantly became the best of friends, both professionally and personally. Together, they perform under the name of “CrossWindz Smooth Jazz” with the tag line "We’ll play for you!"
Lawrence remains excited to share his talents and abilities with deep passion and dedication. Simply put, he is enjoying what he does and loving every minute of it.
