Bio
Rand Lines is a jazz pianist based in Atlanta, Ga. His formal studies have taken him to the University of Georgia, Taller de Músics in Barcelona, and the School for Improvisational Music in New York. He has also studied privately with Rachel Oliver, Trey Wright, Kevin Bales, Dan Nettles, and Fred Hersch.
The Italian newspaper, La Provincia, describes Rand as being "obsessed with details, a sincere performer, and an extremely faithful 'translator' of immortal songs." Aside from Italy, Rand has performed in Spain, Central America, and throughout the United States. Whether performing with the Athens Symphony, at a Juke Joint Festival in Mississippi, or with an experimental jazz ensemble in New York, he is well versed in all types of music. La Provincia continues "his technique is extremely polished: his use of melody and harmony is an elegant mixture that results in the perfect purity of sound."
