Bio

Ian Bracchitta performs as a bassist in the jazz, classical and popular music idioms. His trio and Quartet perform extensively in the southeastern United States.

He has performed with jazz luminaries Dianne Schuur, Kevin Mahogany, The Nelson Riddle and Cab Calloway Orchestras, Pat Harbison, Hod O' Brien, Chris Vadalla, John Stowell

and many other rising jazz performers. Ian has worked extensively in the Broadway Musical genre and has performed with upwards of 35 national broadway tours including Wicked, Porgy

and Bess, West Side Story, Chicago, Legally Blond, The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Billy Elliot, A Chorus Line, The Sound Of Music, My Fair Lady, 9 To 5 and Mary Poppins to name only

a few. As a classical bassist, he has performed with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra since 2002 and became the assistant principal bassist of the Greenville Symphony in 1990 and the

principal bassist of the Spartanburg Symphony in 2000. Additionally, he has performed many times with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Bracchitta performed on the debut recording

of the duo Synchronicity in 2000 which then made their New York City debut at the Merkin recital Hall in November of 2001. Mr. Bracchitta has performed on numerous

regional commercials and industrial soundtracks. Recent appearances with The Irish Tenors and Celtic Woman. Recordings include Synthetic Dances: Rebecca Nagle Music for Oboe

on the Centaur label, Like Minds by the duo Synchronicity and Happy Together by Canadian Jazz Guitarist Mark Guest. Mr. Bracchitta taught at the University of South Carolina's School

of Music from 2002-2006 and has taught at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities since 2000 where his students have distinguished themselves in many of the

finest music schools and post graduate schools around the country. Additionally, Mr. Bracchitta is happily on the adjunct faculties of Furman and Clemson Universities. He is a graduate of the

University of Massachusetts, Amherst, studied Jazz at the Berklee College of Music and attended the Westchester Conservatory during High School. He is grateful to his

teachers which include Michael Moore, Jack Budrow, Orin O' Brien, Donald Palma, Salvatore Macchia, William Blossom and the Trenches.
