Bio

TIM WILLIAMS, musician, vocalist, songwriter, arranger and composer. Tim received numerous all-state and county musical awards in high school and middle school as a trombonist and vocalist in his birthplace of Mobile, AL.

Tim received scholarship offers in the band and choir from Florida A&M and Alabama A&M University. Tim accepted a full music scholarship in voice to Alabama A& M University. Tim began writing and composing songs in college. In college Tim sung in the university choir and continued playing the trombone in The University Jazz Band.

While performing in various jazz ensembles, Tim had an opportunity to perform with trombonist great Fred Wesley formerly with Parliament and James Brown. In college Tim self taught himself how to play the bass guitar after another bass player showed him the fingering. Playing the bass guitar strengthened his ability to write, arrange and compose music. Tim presently plays the bass guitar with various jazz ensembles in Atlanta, Georgia where he also writes, arranges and compose music. Tim is the lead artist in his self-titled band called The Tim Williams Project. Tim shared the stage with Con Funk Shun, The Bar-Kays and The Commodores at Bay Fest 2009 www.bayfest.com in Mobile, AL. Tim opened for Jill Scott at Bay Fest 2011.

Tim is an active member of BMI. Tim’s second project which he recorded with Jazz Ensemble Collaboration, trumpeter Jermaine English and sax man Dewayne Martin shows his versatile writing abilities in Latin, R&B, and contemporary jazz. The entire CD The Next Level is available on-line at cdbaby.com and is currently being played on 25 radio stations including the UK and Smooth Jazz FL-WSJF-DB.
